With a 30 year journey through underground music culture, it’s fair to say Cliffy has a few strings to his musical bow. From Hip-Hop to House, Jungle to Garage, and from Disco to Grime, Reggae to Rave….he’s worked his way through various scenes as a DJ and event promoter. His passion for new, and exciting music has given him the opportunity to work with a range of artists and brands, and helped build a CV to be very proud of. Although he’s primarily known for being a House DJ, his tastes are extremely varied – so he prides himself on being able to deliver excellent sets regardless of the genre.

He started DJing around 1992 as part of a collective, playing Reggae and Jungle in pubs and clubs around North Telford – but only started playing solo around 2003, playing local bars and parties. This is where he developed his reputation as a House DJ. Since then, whilst still flirting with many other genres, he has cemented a place as a respected DJ, with a decent local following.

Over the years, the career highlights have been:

– long residencies with hugely successful brands such as Clique Exclusive, Audio-Tek, Code7, Retro, Bushwackers, Masquerade, Hau5 Of Jack, Steppin’ etc.

– has played next to artists like Hannah Wants, DJ EZ, James Hype, Yousef, DJ SKT, Tom Shorterz, Low Steppa, Alistair Whitehead, Roger Sanchez, Marcus Nasty, Danny Rampling, Jon Of Pleased Wimmin and many more.

– a 5 year weekly residency at Shropshire’s biggest club The Buttermarket, during easily their most successful period (2013-2018)

– currently a resident for up and coming Tech House brand Hau5 Of Jack, the classic House brand Masquerade, UK Garage aficionados Steppin’, and regularly plays for Shropshire based brands such as Seasunal Sessions and Disco Tech.

– As a DJ he has rarely worked on seeking bookings outside of Shropshire, more focused on building a local scene for the music he’s passionate about. Underground music has never had a particularly solid platform in the area and he has tried to play a part in building something that will last for years, and bring new opportunities and culture to our area.
